When we got to the stage in our plans to remodel our 1932 Hyde Park home to choose cabinets and a cabinet company, like so many people, we started looking at the well-known big box stores with their miserable customer service and narrow selection. We needed quality and value, classic style that would speak to the age and original design of the home but not at custom prices, and service; someone who could interpret what we said we wanted and turn it into concrete choices we could see. Joe Hoffer, at Under Budget Kitchens, did all that and more for us. He led us through the various styles and grades of quality, (though all grades were better than what we’d seen to that point), helped us design a layout that is way beyond our wildest hopes, and blew our minds with how much we found we could get with our limited budget. He showed us preliminary and final designs using a custom 3-D computer presentation on a big screen at UBK that he could alter right in front of us to help us make changes we thought of once we saw how things would look. He had ideas of his own that have ended up being our favorite things, too!
Adam, owner/manager of UBK Austin, stepped in several times during the process to make sure that we were getting all the help we needed (we always were), and made such a connection with us that we had to make him leave us with Joe in our design meetings or we’d have never finished! The installations went great, done in just a few short days though we bought cabinets for two bathrooms and a kitchen/dining room with a large island, a pantry you could park a bus in, and a specialty cabinet custom made for our clothes washer and dryer, (thanks, Hector!). That last item was not on the normal menu but UBK makes your dreams happen!
The results not only startle our friends and family but, perhaps more telling, every construction professional that comes into our house asks who did our cabinetry… after they pick their jaws up off the floor. We could not recommend these fine professionals to our friends with anymore enthusiasm. Call them and make your dream kitchen happen!

My husband and I were discussing the possibility of upgrading our kitchen but had not really come to the joint decision of upgrading the cabinets. I met Adam at a chance encounter driving down their street. I ordered new cabinets from him, got them right on time, installed easily and precise, and had my countertops done by one of their contractors as well. I just got a quote from my realtor on the Kitchen upgrade and she said I raised the value of my home by at least 25K! Needless to say I spent less than a 1/4 of that, these guys are awesome. We purchased a business in January, 2009, and did a total renovation of the facility. We removed the entire 70’s style kitchen and were down to just sheet rock. We needed cabinets and we needed some direction. We heard about Under Budget Kitchens from someone who had heard one of their commercials. So we looked up their location and headed over. Once there, we met the owner, Adam and soon after, his wife Daniela. After being there only a short time, we felt like old friends!
